The GIOTTO Motorised Fabric Tension System | Glass Roof & Pergola Awnings

The Giotto Fabric Tension System offers premium climate control for your property. Specifically, it is the perfect architectural solution for shading large glass roofs, conservatories, and pergolas. Consequently, it stops the sun’s harsh heat before it hits your glass panels or outdoor entertainment deck. As a result, this advanced external awning drastically reduces indoor heat build-up. Ultimately, you gain a comfortable, energy-efficient living space all year round.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Flawless Fabric Tension: The system features an internal dual-tension spring mechanism. Therefore, the exterior fabric remains perfectly taut at all times. For instance, it stays smooth whether it is fully open, completely closed, or stopped mid-way.

  • Effortless Motorised Operation: This system is engineered for modern luxury and convenience. Consequently, the Giotto operates exclusively via motorization. Please note that a manual gear-box drive is not available. Furthermore, this allows for seamless remote control or smart-home integration.

  • Sleek Protective Cassette: The awning features a deep-section front bar and a compact cassette profile. Moreover, this casing completely encloses and protects the mechanism when retracted. Thus, your fabric skin stays safe from Melbourne’s volatile weather.

  • Flexible Architectural Mounting: Standard mounting brackets provide a clean 80mm clearance over roof mullions. However, you can choose extra-height brackets for a 170mm clearance. In addition, side-fit and sideways-adjustable brackets are available options.

Product Specifications & Configurations

The Giotto system is highly adaptable. In fact, it offers single, twin, or triple unit configurations to cover expansive areas.

  • Single Unit System: Widths range from 1.25m to 5m. Additionally, projections reach up to 5m. Maximum coverage limits include 5m W x 4m P or 4m W x 5m P.

  • Twin Unit System: This option covers up to 10m wide with a 4m projection. Importantly, twin models feature independent motors. Therefore, you can operate each side separately.

  • Triple Unit System: This configuration spans up to 15m wide with a 4m projection. As a result, it is perfect for massive commercial spaces or large residential pergolas.

  • Heavy-Duty Build: The unit utilizes a robust 78mm galvanized steel roller tube. This ensures maximum structural integrity.

  • Wind Rating: It holds a certified Wind Class 1 (European) rating. This matches Beaufort Force 4 (Australian). Specifically, it safely handles a maximum wind speed of 27km/h.
